Many brides only have the opportunity to attend one bridal show during their engagement. Unfortunately, once they’re at the show, they realize that preparation would have made the experience more enjoyable and productive.  Following are some of our tips for making the most of the show.

Know Before You Go – Check out the show’s website to see which exhibitors will be there. Check out the exhibitors’ websites and make a list of the one’s you want to meet with.

Be Smart About Show Specials – Many wedding pros will offer great savings if you book them at the show. Be careful, though. A deal isn’t a deal if it’s going to  take up too much of your budget and not leave you enough for other wedding components. Ask the wedding pro if they’ll be willing to honor that special just for making an appointment at the show and then booking them later.

Be Comfortable – Wear comfy shoes. Lighten the load in your purse, then tuck in a bottle of water (this will come in handy if you taste multiple pieces of cake.)

Eat a light lunch – You don’t want to get low blood sugar while at the show, but there will be treats to taste as you make your rounds. The amount of food varies from show to show, so avoid being either stuffed or starved.

Come prepared – You’ll be asked to give your contact info numerous times – when you register at the door, when you want more information from an exhibitor and if you register for a door prize.  Bring pre-printed labels with your name, wedding date, phone number, email address and wedding city. Important note – Don’t give out your name, email and phone number unless you want to be contacted. If you do want to be contacted, make sure you give an email address you actually check!

Stay for both fashion shows – The fashion shows are a great opportunity to take a break from the action, as well as to see the latest in bridal fashions.  The show floor gets pretty quiet during the shows, so it’s also a great opportunity to visit booth’s without the crowds.

See you at the show!
